They also all provide evidence that tech companies are still capable of innovating and surprising us, even if the best iPhones have looked very much the same for the past decade or so.

1. Mirumi robot

Tiny robots are nothing new to us here at TechRadar, but you don’t often see cuddly ones designed to latch onto your bag, which is what we have with the Mirumi robot from Yukai Engineering. This quirky product stands out as one of the strangest gadgets at CES 2025, showcasing the potential for unique technology.

The robot has just one party trick: to steal glances at passing people, thanks to the motion sensors built inside it. The idea is to act like a curious companion, similar to having a child or pet carry around with you.

2. Electric Salt Spoon

Too much salt is harmful to health, yet its flavor makes it hard to eliminate from meals. Enter the Electric Salt Spoon: a device currently only available in Japan, cleverly allowing food to taste saltier without adding extra condiments.

This innovative spoon works by grouping together the sodium ions in your food to make them more concentrated, resulting in food that tastes saltier—without needing additional salt. While we haven’t tested it ourselves, the concept is genuinely impressive.

3. Willo AutoFlo Plus

Anything that encourages kids to brush their teeth more frequently is a positive, and that’s exactly what the Willo AutoFlo Plus aims to do. This innovative gadget automates much of the tooth-brushing process, dispensing toothpaste while helping to clean teeth effectively.

Additionally, it manages rinsing, taking one more task off your plate. An app keeps track of brushing habits, and pricing starts at $249 (about £200 / AU$400), with options for brush sizes and toothpaste flavors.
